Application Information

What you need to know.

  • Your job site must be located within the city limits of Bellevue, Bothell, Burien, Duvall, Gig Harbor, Issaquah, Kenmore, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Mill Creek, Sammamish, Snoqualmie, Woodinville or unincorporated Snohomish County. These are the only jurisdictions currently participating in MyBuildingPermit.com.
  • Is a permit required for the work you are doing (see "When are permits required")?
  • If a permit is required, is the permit you need available electronically on this site? Not all mechanical, electrical, low voltage, and plumbing permits that do not require plans are available electronically.
  • All contractors must register to use this site. Registration allows verification that the contractor has the appropriate state and local licenses. This verification and approval process takes up to two working days. If you are a property owner applying for a permit and having a contractor do the work, your contractor needs to be registered on this site.

What you need to apply.

  • Contractor registration approval
  • A printer to print the permit and any attachments
  • An e-mail address to receive the receipt and permit
  • A VISA or MasterCard
